As of October 13, 2026, only two of the well-known sweepstakes brands whose own terms or help pages we could read accept Canadians for prizes: WOW Vegas and McLuck, and both leave out Quebec. Chumba Casino, Global Poker, LuckyLand, Pulsz, Stake.us, High 5 Casino and Modo restrict play or prizes to the United States. Several other brands blocked our checks, so they are not in the table at all.

Every row below comes from the brand’s own terms, sweepstakes rules or help centre, read on the date shown. We do not link to the brands; the exact documents are listed in the sources for this page.

A few details matter for the two brands that do take Canadians:

  • WOW Vegas says residents of Canada can redeem Sweeps Coin prizes, except residents of Quebec, and lists Quebec among the places restricted from Sweeps Coin play. Its play coins are open more widely, subject to local laws. Its terms set the minimum age at 18 or the age of majority where you live, whichever is higher. Its full sweepstakes rules sit behind a login, so we relied on its help centre.
  • McLuck says its games are available in nine provinces and three territories, every one except Quebec, which it leaves out citing provincial regulations. Its Canadian help centre sets the minimum age at 21. The location article was last updated in 2024, and the site’s own location notice still named Canada as available on October 13, 2026.

Which well-known brands do not accept Canadians?

VGW, the company behind Chumba Casino, Global Poker and LuckyLand, is the clearest case, because it used to serve Canada. It announced in August 2025 that Chumba Casino and Global Poker were leaving Canada: Gold Coin sales stopped on August 28, 2025, and remaining balances could be redeemed until October 23, 2025, according to Covers. Both brands’ terms dated September 16, 2026 now exclude every jurisdiction outside the United States.

LuckyLand’s current sweepstakes rules, dated October 2, 2025, name the United States as the only permitted territory, and the old LuckyLand Slots address now redirects to LuckyLand Casino. Pulsz, Stake.us, High 5 Casino and Modo likewise restrict their terms to the United States. Modo’s terms, for example, bar access from any jurisdiction outside the US.

Why is Quebec so often excluded?

Until 2023, Quebec added its own layer of contest paperwork on top of the federal rules. A publicity contest open to Quebec residents was declared to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux (RACJ) with a notice and duties were collected. The list of winners went to the Régie, contests with prizes worth more than $2,000 in total owed a report within 60 days of naming the winners, and security could be required. That cost and paperwork is a plausible reason so many contests left Quebec out, though the brands we read do not say so.

It may not even have applied to every sweepstakes site. A 2023 summary by the law firm Borden Ladner Gervais notes an exception for contests international in scope and not aimed only at Quebec or Canada, which could have covered a site open across North America.

That regime has ended. Quebec’s 2023 act on reducing regulatory and administrative burden (S.Q. 2023, c. 24), assented to on October 27, 2023, took publicity contests out of the province’s lotteries act, now titled the Act respecting lotteries and amusement machines, and repealed the Rules respecting publicity contests. The RACJ confirms that organizers no longer file anything with it, except for contests declared before that date.

Yet both brands that accept Canadians still exclude Quebec as of October 2026, and neither explains exactly why. Quebec does keep rules other provinces do not, such as French-language requirements for commercial websites and consumer contracts, and an exclusion written years ago can also simply stay in the terms. Our Quebec guide covers the province’s own gambling setup.

Why do eligibility lists keep changing?

Brands add and drop places often. Stake.us’s terms record ten updates between February 2025 and July 2026 that added US states to its excluded list. High 5 Casino’s rules record its withdrawal from Indiana and Iowa starting June 16, 2026 and from Maine starting June 26, 2026, and Fortune Wins told California players that Sweeps Coin play there would end on December 22, 2025, citing recent regulatory changes. VGW’s Canadian exit shows the same thing can happen to a whole country.

Treat any list, including ours, as a snapshot with a date on it.

How do you check a brand’s eligibility yourself?

  1. Find the sweepstakes rules, sometimes called official rules or SC game rules, not only the general terms.
  2. Look for the words “Eligible Participants”, “Permitted Territories”, “Excluded Territories” or “Restricted Territories”.
  3. Check the minimum age, which may be higher than your province’s age of majority.
  4. Check whether the mail-in entry address accepts requests from Canada.
  5. Note the version number and date, because the rules change without much warning.

Do not try to get around a block. The terms we read treat masking your location with a VPN or proxy as a breach, and Chumba Casino’s terms warn that it may amount to fraud and allow the operator to withhold balances.

Before collecting coins, read about the ID checks that come before a prize is paid and how redemption works. For what each province runs itself, see our guide to every province, and if spending is becoming a worry, our list of free provincial helplines can help.

Questions people ask

Which sweepstakes casinos accept Canadian players?

Of the well-known brands whose own terms or help pages we could read on October 13, 2026, WOW Vegas and McLuck accept Canadians for Sweeps Coin prizes. Both exclude Quebec. Eligibility changes often, so check the brand's current rules before you buy anything.

Why can't Quebec residents redeem sweepstakes prizes?

The brands that exclude Quebec do not explain it in detail; McLuck's help centre cites provincial regulations. Quebec's old publicity-contest formalities, which made many organizers leave the province out, were abolished on October 27, 2023, yet the exclusions remain in the terms we read in October 2026.

Can I use a VPN to play a sweepstakes casino from an excluded province?

Not without breaking the rules. The terms we read treat masking your location as a breach, and Chumba Casino's terms warn it may amount to fraud and allow the operator to withhold balances. Prizes are paid only after location and identity checks.
