Popular Social Casino Apps in Canada, Explained One by One
On this page
Seven of the social casino apps with the most ratings in the Canadian App Store are Slotomania, DoubleDown Casino, Quick Hit Casino, House of Fun, myVEGAS Slots, Jackpot Party and Big Fish Casino. All seven are free to download, rated 18+ in Canada, run on a virtual currency that never cashes out, and make their money from coin and chip packs. Each one has its own page below with who makes it, what it costs in Canadian dollars and the catch.
How we chose these seven
We did not pick favourites. We looked at how many ratings each big social casino app had collected in the Canadian App Store on October 13, 2026, which is a rough sign of how many Canadians have used it, not a measure of quality.
| App | Made by (group) | In-app currency | Ratings in the Canadian App Store | Canadian App Store age rating |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DoubleDown Casino | DoubleDown Interactive (DoubleU Games) | Chips | 71,142 | 18+ |
| Quick Hit Casino | SciPlay (Light & Wonder) | Coins | 64,187 | 18+ |
| Slotomania | Playtika | Coins | 51,991 | 18+ |
| House of Fun | Playtika | Coins | 40,298 | 18+ |
| myVEGAS Slots | Playstudios | Chips, plus Loyalty Points | 26,751 | 18+ |
| Jackpot Party | SciPlay (Light & Wonder) | Coins | 25,830 | 18+ |
| Big Fish Casino | Product Madness (Aristocrat) | Chips and Gold | 20,440 | 18+ |
Counts as shown on October 13, 2026; they change daily. Two other big names, the bingo app Bingo Blitz and Playstudios’ myKONAMI Slots, also had large followings, but this section sticks to casino slot apps.
What all seven have in common
- The currency never pays out. Coins, chips and Gold are licensed to you for use in the game. The terms say they have no cash value and cannot be sold, transferred or redeemed. Our page on why coins have no cash value goes through the wording.
- The money flows one way. Every app sells coin or chip packs, and most push limited-time offers and VIP perks that reward buying. See how in-app purchases are priced before your first top-up.
- The age rules do not agree. The Canadian App Store rates all seven 18+, the Google Play listings in Canada carry a Teen rating, and several publishers’ own terms or descriptions set the bar at 21. The strictest rule is the one to follow.
- They are built around coming back. Daily wheels, streaks, levels, clubs and collections appear in nearly all of them. Our features guide explains each one and its catch.
Where they differ
Slotomania and House of Fun are sister apps from Playtika, with near-identical coin systems and purchase terms. Quick Hit Casino and Jackpot Party are both SciPlay apps that carry slot brands from Light & Wonder’s casino-floor family, such as Bally and WMS. DoubleDown Casino is one of the oldest, dating back to Facebook in 2010, and has its own Diamond Club and a page here on how its promo codes work. Big Fish Casino runs on two currencies, chips and Gold. myVEGAS Slots is the outlier: play earns Loyalty Points that can be exchanged for real-world rewards from partners such as MGM Resorts, which our page on myVEGAS rewards for Canadians looks at closely.
The legal history you should know about
Several of these apps have been the subject of class actions in the United States, all under Washington State law. In 2018 a US federal appeals court held in Kater v. Churchill Downs that Big Fish Casino’s virtual chips counted as a “thing of value” under that state’s gambling law, and settlements involving Big Fish Casino, DoubleDown Casino and SciPlay’s games followed. Each app page sets out the details with dates. None of these were Canadian rulings, and they did not change how the apps work in Canada.
Before you download any of them
- Free coins only ever come from inside the app and the publisher’s own channels. Sites promising “unlimited coins” are scams; our page on where free coins come from shows what to avoid.
- Decide your monthly limit first, and use the store tools in setting your own limits.
- If a purchase goes wrong, refunds go through Apple, Google or the publisher, as our refunds guide explains.
- If there are children in the house, set up parental controls before an app is installed.

Questions people ask
Which social casino app is the best in Canada?
There is no single best one, and we do not rank them. They work the same way at heart: free coins, paid coin packs and no cash prizes. The differences are in the slot line-up, the features and, for myVEGAS Slots, a loyalty program with real-world rewards, so pick on what you enjoy and set a spending limit before you start.
Can you win real money on Slotomania, DoubleDown or Quick Hit?
No. All seven apps on this page use virtual currency that their terms say has no cash value and cannot be cashed out, sold or traded. Anything you buy is spent inside the app.
Are these apps available everywhere in Canada?
All seven were listed in the Canadian App Store on October 13, 2026, rated 18+. Their publishers set their own minimum ages on top of that, often 21, so read the terms before you sign up, and remember that real-money gambling ages are set separately by each province.
