To turn Sweeps Coins into a prize you need coins that were won in play, not just collected, a balance above the brand’s minimum, a fully verified account and, as a Canadian, a correct answer to a skill-testing question. Then you choose a payout method and wait. Every step varies by brand, so the figures below are examples taken from brands’ own pages, with dates, not promises.

Most of the detailed figures come from WOW Vegas and McLuck, the two well-known brands we found accepting Canadians in October 2026, with US-only brands’ rules used where they show how the industry works. Our list of brands that accept Canadians has the eligibility details.

Which Sweeps Coins can you redeem?

Only Sweeps Coins won through play. Coins you collected free, from a pack bonus, a daily drop or a mail-in request, have to go through at least one round of play first. VGW’s rules make one play-through the default and allow the operator to require up to 20. High 5 Casino’s rules require at least one and reserve the right to ask for more.

For redemption, LuckyLand’s and High 5 Casino’s rules value one redeemable Sweeps Coin at one US dollar. Unplayed or unredeemed coins can also disappear: WOW Vegas’s help centre says free Sweeps Coins expire 60 days after they are credited, and VGW’s LuckyLand rules expire them 60 days after your last login. Our page on the two-currency model explains where each kind comes from.

How much do you need before you can redeem?

Each brand sets a minimum, and it often differs between cash and gift cards.

Brand Minimum for a cash prize Minimum for a gift card or non-cash prize Source date
WOW Vegas (accepts Canadians outside Quebec) SC 50 SC 20 Help centre, May 13, 2026
LuckyLand Casino (US only) US$50 (50 eligible Sweeps Coins) Same threshold Sweeps Rules, October 2, 2025
High 5 Casino (US only) 100 Sweeps Coins 50 Sweeps Coins Official Rules, June 26, 2026

We did not find a published minimum in McLuck’s Canadian help centre, so check the redemption screen in your account. A minimum also shapes how you play: a balance sitting just under the threshold is a nudge to keep going.

How are prizes paid to Canadians?

Canadian payout options differ by brand, and at WOW Vegas they are narrower than its general list.

  • WOW Vegas says that, as of May 2026, eligible Canadian winners can redeem through Prizeout or MassPay, after answering a mathematical skill-testing question. Its general list also includes Skrill and Trustly.
  • McLuck’s Canadian help centre, last updated in 2024, lists bank transfer, Interac and Prizer, and says Canadian redemptions are processed in Canadian dollars.

Currency is the other thing to watch. Prize values in the rules we read are set in US dollars, and WOW Vegas describes converting Sweeps Coin winnings into US dollars. If a prize is paid in US dollars, the conversion to Canadian dollars happens at whatever rate your bank or payment service applies.

How long does a redemption take?

It varies by brand, account status and payout method. WOW Vegas, as of October 2026, processes requests on weekdays during business hours, with speed tied to VIP level: the top tiers are handled the same business day, the next tier the next business day, and everyone else within 3 business days. The payout method then adds its own time, from typically instant for Prizeout to up to 3 to 5 business days for Trustly when its instant option is unavailable.

Other limits slow things down. WOW Vegas caps pending redemptions at SC 10,000 at a time. Chumba Casino’s US terms allow one redemption request per 24 hours and up to ten business days for a cash payment, and High 5 Casino’s rules allow one request per 48 hours. Identity checks can add more, which our page on identity verification for winners covers.

Why do redemptions get delayed or refused?

  • Verification is not finished. The brands we read require a verified account before paying, and an unfinished check keeps the request pending.
  • Proof of address problems. WOW Vegas wants a utility bill or bank statement from the last 3 months as a downloadable PDF, and rejects mobile phone bills and screenshots.
  • Details that do not match. Bank details, names and email addresses must match the account. WOW Vegas notes that MassPay requests fail if the email differs from your account email.
  • Security reviews. Brands may hold a request while their payments team checks the account.
  • Breaking the rules. High 5 Casino’s rules void redemptions for players with more than one account, and the terms we read treat playing from an excluded place, or masking your location, as a breach.
  • The screen is not the verdict. LuckyLand’s and High 5 Casino’s rules both say you are not a winner until the operator has verified your eligibility and the winning play, whatever the game showed.

One more catch sits in the fine print. Chumba Casino’s terms say funds matching unredeemed prizes are held in separate accounts, but that there is no absolute guarantee you would be paid if the company became insolvent. Leaving a large balance unredeemed carries that risk.

Before a big redemption, read tax on prizes in Canada, and keep your own record of what you bought and what you redeemed.

Questions people ask

What is the minimum to redeem Sweeps Coins?

It depends on the brand and the prize type. As of October 2026, WOW Vegas's help centre lists SC 50 for a cash prize and SC 20 for a gift card. Other brands set their own thresholds, so check the redemption screen and the official rules before you play for a target.

How do Canadians receive sweepstakes prizes?

Through whatever methods the brand offers in Canada, which differ from its US options. As of October 2026, WOW Vegas lists Prizeout and MassPay for Canadian winners, and McLuck's Canadian help centre lists bank transfer, Interac and Prizer, processed in Canadian dollars.

Why was my sweepstakes redemption rejected?

The common reasons are an unverified account, a proof of address that is too old or in the wrong format, payout details that do not match the account, or a security review. Playing from an excluded place or holding more than one account can void a redemption outright.
