Slotomania is a free social slots app from Playtika, and Canadians can download it from both the Canadian App Store and Google Play. You spin with virtual Coins that you can collect for free or buy with real money, and nothing you win can ever be cashed out, sold or swapped for a prize.

Who makes Slotomania, and can Canadians play it?
Slotomania was the first game from Playtika, a company founded in Israel in 2010. According to Playtika’s US securities filings, Caesars Interactive Entertainment bought it in 2011, an investor group led by Giant Investment paid US$4.4 billion for it in 2016, and its shares have traded on Nasdaq since January 2021. Playtika also owns House of Fun, which runs on the same model.
The app is listed in the Canadian App Store and on Google Play in Canada, priced in Canadian dollars. Playtika’s terms of service (updated June 2026) contain no clause excluding Canada, but they set a minimum age of 21 for Slotomania unless the company says otherwise.
That is stricter than either store. The Canadian App Store rates it 18+ for frequent simulated gambling and notes loot boxes, ads and chat, while Google Play shows the ESRB Teen rating, which Google describes as suitable for 13 and up and able to include simulated gambling. Our guide to age ratings and parental controls shows how to lock it down on a shared device.
The App Store lists English as the only language, which matters for French-speaking players in Quebec. Beyond phones and tablets, the official website links to a browser version, and Google Play marks the game as available on Windows.
What are Slotomania Coins, and what can you do with them?
Coins pay for every spin. Playtika’s terms say virtual items are licensed to you rather than owned, have no real-world money value, can never be redeemed for money or goods, and may not be sold, traded or gifted beyond what the game allows. Outside the UK and Europe, Playtika can also end that licence, for example when it closes an account, with no refund. Our page on why coins have no cash value covers the thinking behind terms like these.
The features regulars know it for, per its store listings and website:
- Slotocards and albums: card sets you complete through play (see card collections and albums).
- SlotoClans: teams that compete together, like the groups in clubs, leagues and clans.
- Timed bonuses: a lobby Special Bonus every four hours plus a daily gift (see daily bonuses and streaks and our Slotomania free coins guide).
- SlotoQuests and weekly mini-games, in the style of tournaments, events and quests.
- Gems: a second, purchasable currency, used for extras such as removing strikes on the Family Feud machine.
- Playtika Rewards: a loyalty program shared across six Playtika games, with seven status levels.
What costs money in Slotomania?
The download is free. As listed in the Canadian App Store on October 13, 2026, its ten in-app purchase items ran from $0.99 to $24.99 (CAD), with names such as Mini Package, Deluxe Package and Pro Package. Google Play’s Canadian listing gave a wider range of $0.39 to $549.99 per item on the same day. Prices change often, so check the store before you buy.
Some purchases include random items: Playtika says so on its own website, and Apple’s rating notes loot boxes.
The loyalty system is where spending compounds. Playtika Rewards status points come from level-ups and purchases, bigger purchases earn more, and the balance resets every January. Slotomania’s Inner Circle, open from Platinum status up, advertised 25% more Coins on every purchase and a weekly safety net handing back 5% of a week’s bets minus wins (official site, October 2026). Read our guides to how in-app purchases are priced, refunds through Apple and Google and setting your own limits before your first pack.
Is Slotomania legit, and what is the catch?
It is a legitimate, long-running app from a publicly listed company, and it does what the store listing says. The catch is just as plain: it cannot pay you anything. Playtika’s terms state that no money or anything worth money can be won, so every dollar spent buys entertainment, never a chance at a return.
Slotomania has also been at the centre of US litigation over paid virtual coins. In Wilson v. Playtika, filed in 2018 in federal court in Washington State, players alleged that Slotomania, House of Fun and other Playtika games broke that state’s gambling and consumer protection laws. Playtika and Caesars Interactive agreed to pay a combined US$38 million into a settlement fund, which the court approved in February 2021.
That case followed the Ninth Circuit’s 2018 Big Fish Casino ruling that virtual chips can be a “thing of value” under Washington law. On February 3, 2026, Washington’s Attorney General sued Playtika and Aristocrat, naming Slotomania among 16 apps. Those are allegations, not findings; in its August 2026 quarterly report, Playtika called the case preliminary and said it would defend it.
All of these are US matters under Washington State law, not Canadian law. They still show how seriously some regulators view paid virtual currency.
